UFC stands for the Ultimate Fighting Championship which is an American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion company based in Las Vegas that is owned by William Morris Endeavour.The purpose of UFC fighting was to establish the most effective martial art in a contest that had no weight classes and minimal rules that were as follows: no biting, hair pulling, groin shots and eye gouging. Legendary fighters well known for their ability to win in UFC fighting are Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar, Connor McGregor and Ken Shamrock. Women's MMA has seen Ronda Rousey defend her title from 2012 to 2015 before she was defeated by Holly Holm another belt holder in more than one martial art.
